Hello all,
You'll all I'm sure by now be aware that I'm taking part in Renegade Craft Fair in a mere months time, it would be wonderful to meet some of you if you fancy popping by and saying hello!
I thought I'd take a moment today to share with you some prep work that's been going down at ONR HQ.
What with it being my first big craft fair {yep - I'm a rookie} I've found myself with a to-do list as long as my arm. It's crazy how much stuff you need logistically - displays, tablecloth, signage, promotional materials, packaging, boxes to get everything to the event, money tin, receipt book, card reader, STOCK!!
For those of you that know me 'in real life' you'll know that I'm pretty particular, I set myself impossibly high standards, because I care a huge amount about what I do, and I want everything to be just right. So...I've been spending many an evening carefully constructing display materials, hand lettering & painting signs, price tags, all sorts - in in a nice matching colour palette and style. {I hope you guys like the finished article!!}.
I'm also trying not to overwhelm myself with stock prep as, after all I'm used to making everything to order, my flat is pretty tiny, so storage is a weeny issue AND I still have lots of lovely orders from Etsy customers to complete throughout the week too.
I've set myself nightly targets to reach so that bit by bit I'll get everything done - without putting myself under mad pressure the night before the event. I've been illustrating batches of plates, notebooks & happy little clouds plus ordering stock and other essentials bit by bit too.
Hopefully once the event is over, I'll have lots to share with you all about prepping for & taking part in a big fair which might help those of you who fancy giving it a bash yourselves!
Enough rambling from me...here are a few snippets of progress so far {big thanks to Harriet for helping me out yesterday!!}
So there you have it - little by little the prep is getting done. It still feels a little overwhelming the thought of how much I need to do and how much money I'm spending on stock! eeek!
What advice / words of encouragement can you wise owls offer?
xo.
