{new} to ONR...scallops!

Hello all,

It's Monday again - is it just me or did that come around especially quickly this week? I hope you had a lovely weekend!

On Friday evening I had a little design epiphany - these little scalloped chaps, inspired by the many pairs of scalloped shorts & pretty tops I've been eyeing up in the shops and online for a little while now.

So far I've hand illustrated a little tea set and a rather large {& very lovely} serving bowl - but I have visions of a whole host of other pretties.
I'd really like to set up a properly styled shoot for my items, especially the ceramics, I'd love to get some summery shots of the serving ware and some of the side plates laid out with salads and other yummy treats - but I currently can't seem to conjure up appetising shots of food! It's a tricky art that - perhaps I'll need a little help!

So what do you think? Do we approve of the new design, & would you like to see it on a specific item...the mini cake stand perhaps?

These should be listed in the shop later this week - hoorah!

{nom} Meat & Bread

Hello all,

Last night I was thinking about all the awesome places I ate in Vancouver {there are so many it's unreal!} and I thought I ought to share with you one of my faves. If you ever happen to find yourself in Vancouver - then you need to check out this amazing sandwich shop...Meat & Bread. I'm an absolute sucker for good design and cool packaging and this place had me at hello...

Each day they have a couple of special sandwiches as well as their classics...unfortunately on the day I went the Porchetta sandwich which is apparently the best was sold out {should have had an early rather than late lunch}. Instead Ben, Saaed and I shared the lamb shoulder and meatball sandwiches and oh my they were amazing! {thanks Saeed!}. I certainly didn't feel like I was missing out not getting the Porchetta. They make them and pop them onto a rustic wooden board with a dollop of this AMAZING mustard which they also make and sell {yes it has super cool packaging!} - wish I'd bought some now!
It's got the coolest decor and a really relaxed atmosphere - I really like that there's pretty much just one long table where everyone pulls up a chair and gets comfy together. It was a pretty hipster place - but I totes love a bit of that!
You can check out their daily menu here.
I'll be begrudgingly tucking into a fairly average homemade sandwich at lunch today..longing to be back at M&B!
Anyway I would highly recommend it for a light lunch if you happen to be in the area.

Have a lovely Tuesday!

{hello} Nook & Cranny!

Hello all,

A little update for you today on my presence at the wonderful Nook & Cranny, right in the heart of lovely Liverpool. I've been working with the fabulous people of Nook & Cranny for a good few months now and I must say they are a rather lovely lot!

Nook & Cranny stock a huge variety of lovely products from a whole host of independent British artists. They sell cards, homeware, gifts, stationery, and lots and lots of lovely prints. I can in fact say that lots of my goodies are available from Nook & Cranny, here is a few little snaps of my products in action {photos taken by the wonderful Leigh}.

If you happen to be in Liverpool {the shop is part of the Bluecoat Gallery} you should totes pop in and say hi to the lovely ladies you will find and I challenge you to not be persuaded to part with some precious pennies!
This happy little chappy is one of my creations...I actually made him for myself but Leigh fell in love, so I made a little batch for her to sell - currently exclusively available at Nook & Cranny, but soon to be available from my own little Etsy shop!
Here we have, once again my cheerful chap amongst a lovely big display of all of my hand illustrated ceramics.
This little dinosaur looks pretty interested in my little notes moleskine journal!
Above are my tiny deer and lion prints also available...all of the items you've seen are also available here should you wish to treat yourself - or a friend perhaps!

I hope you love this wonderful little shop as much as I do!

{hello} introvert re-charging...

Hello all, just a little one today...

No not me, as I'm sure is rather blindingly obvious - I'm no introvert, however I do have a wonderful close friend who is. He lives with his friend who, like me is pretty extroverted and therefore loves to be around people all of the time {I don't ever seem to find I want alone time, weird eh?}. My pal, however   loves  a good bit of time alone to collect his thoughts. He's quite the deep thinker!

So, he wanted me to make him a cute little door sign that could help tell people when he was happy for them to just bound on into his room, and when he actually just needs his own space.

Here's what we came up with and I'm very pleased to announce that he LOVED it.

I hope you like it!

{colour ways} Magical Morocco

Inspired by all of the wonderful colours of Marrakech's Souk (market), today's colour ways takes on a very Moroccan Twist. Here is my little short list of what to take//wear//buy in Morocco.
{clockwise from left}
//. Moroccan Oil :
Perfect for taming those over sun exposed and pool crispified ends!

//. Kaftan Dress :
Gorgeous lightweight floaty dress from ASOS, great for the insanely hot weather and pretty modest too {we wore maxi dresses into the city out of respect, but this does cover the shoulders and come the the knee}.

//. Carpe Diem Journal :
I love this 'Seize the Day' Journal. It's made for reflecting and planning your big ideas whilst lounging by the pool.

//. Tagine :
You need to tuck into a traditional meat//fish//veggie tagine if you visit Morocco, slow cooked, heavily spiced and full of fruit - they are super delish!

//. Leather Pouf :
These come in all different colours of died leather. They're hand made and just gorgeous. I didn't get one this time but next time I most definitely will!

//. Spice Cones {via here} :
These are gorgeous bursts of colour all over the Souk - the smell is amazing and the sellers are such characters!

//. YSL Ring :
I've lusted after this ring for what feels like forever! Gold, Silver and Turquoise are everywhere you look in the markets. I didn't see any Yves Saint Laurent rings, but I did have to rein in my desire to buy handfuls of the gorgeous hand made jewellery like a magpie!

Tomorrow I'll be posting a little more about my short break in Africa - it's crazy to think you can now just pop over to Africa for a few days for very few pennies!
