{DIY} neon ♥ iPhone case

Hello all, happy Friday!
It's that time of week again, I'm sharing a little {DIY} for you guys to have a go at over the weekend - yay {I hope}!

I love changing up the cases on my beloved iPhone, my baby in fact. So I thought I'd have a crack a revamping a cheap one into something a little more unique!

All you need is a rigid plastic iphone case in any colour really - I bought mine for £2 in Primark {bargain!}.

This DIY is totally customisable in a million ways depending on what you like! Plus it takes no time at all to do so it's well worth a go...

{here's what you will need}
//. a hard plastic iPhone case
//. a piece of paper/card
//. scissors
//. a pencil and paintbrush
//. paint
//. mod podge {wonderful stuff}
or
//. PVA/varnish
1//. Easy - just take your paper and neatly trace exactly around your iphone case {back against the paper}. Make sure you also trace neatly around the camera hole. Cut it out.
 2//. Take your Mod Podge or adhesive and apply a thin even coat to the entire back of the case. Then carefully take your paper back and apply it very carefully onto the case - making sure you particularly line up the camera hole.

3//. Smooth out any creases/bubbles gently with a credit card or something similar! If the paper is a little see-through then you can always coat it with a layer of white paint {I did this!}.

4//. Draw your design onto the paper you have left - you can trace the case again if you like to make sure your design will fit, and paint your design {the neon heart in my case}.

5//. As soon as your design is dry you can cut around it and apply another thin layer of adhesive to your now white case. Then place your design onto the case and again smooth it down.
6//. Then take your adhesive and carefully start to brush it over your design to seal it in.
7//. Coat your entire design with adhesive and leave to dry.

8//. TA DA! you're totally done - snap it onto your phone and bask in the glory of your newly customised super cool iPhone case. yay.
If you do have a little go at this yourself then please do share you creations with me {@ohnorachio}

p.s. apologies - can you tell I love neon pink hearts and hand written typography? oops.

{colour ways} a pop of pink!

Look at all this pinky goodness? I've never really seen myself as a girly girl but consider me a changed woman! I am loving the pinks right now - I actually blame my friend Bing, she's pink queen and set me off with these coral nails!

{clockwise from left} //. Waterfall Skirt: Republic //. Powder Pink Nail Varnish: Topshop //. Adrenaline Nail Varnish: Topshop //. Rose Chocolate: Rococo //. Little Cloud Cushion: ohnorachio {me!} //. Neon Heart Card: Banquet //. Berry Lime Coconut Lolly: Desserts for Breakfast //. Peony Blusher: MAC //. Raspberry Wellies: Hunters //. Pink Wayfarers: Ray-Ban

Enjoy revelling in the warm pink glow!

{happy friday} little clouds in sunny oz...

G'Day all and Happy Friday!

Very exciting news from the shop...I have just sent off my very first order to Australia! (a few weeks ago actually but I didn't want to spoil the surprise!). The order was for one of each of my smily little cloud cushions. In the spirit of the upcoming Jubilympic celebrations over here I thought I'd include a little British Jubilee themed treat along with the cushions...so here's a couple of little snapshots of what I did!

Here are Sally's two little clouds, happy as Larry.

I put in some Haribo Starmix because who doesn't love a cheeky fried egg? In the back there you can see the little Jubilee treat of Limited Edition red, white and blue M&Ms :).

You can't really tell from this picture but I hung the tags with NEON pink thread.

So that was it, my first order to sunny, sunny Perth - Australia. I always like it when you order something and you find a little something extra or a cute surprise with your order or the seller has gone to extra effort with the packaging, so I like to do that when I can for my customers too :)

I also decorated the outside of the box with my leafy motif and added a bit of sparkle as you can see below!

I hope Sally receives her parcel safe and sound and that she likes the secret little treats!
Have a great weekend :)

{DIY} make this...from that.

I always love a good trip to Ikea and since one opened literally 20 minutes walk from my door - I've found myself sneaking in more often than is safe for my poor wallet.

Nevertheless, I have found some cracking bargains AND had a go at a few of my own 'Ikea Hacks'. I thought I'd try to share these mini projects so that you guys can maybe try it out yourselves!

To kick things all off, today is the turn of the humble wooden spoon...

I got this bundle of cute wooden utensils from Ikea for a bargainous 59p! I definitely bought more than one bundle...

So many cool examples of painted utensils crop up all over the place on Pinterest, I thought it was about time I did my own version. Its very easy to do and the colour combinations are endless! Since I took this photo I've done another two sets of utensils...its rather addictive!

Here's a little photo showing how I got a neat even line, its nice and simple! (Sorry for the messy table!).

I found Washi tape to be the best as it has just the right level of adhesive. I used acrylic paints which I mixed with a little magic ingredient - Mod Podge. It preserves the paint and makes sure it adheres properly to the wood. I always see Mod Podge mentioned on ace American blogs and I finally found some in HobbyCraft. Its pretty much the same as PVA I think so if you don't have it you can just as well use a bit of PVA mixed into the paint!

Hope this might inspire you to have a go yourself - they really look cool!

love this...

How amazing is this glittery nail varnish? PERFECT for summer! These photos totally don't do it justice, I couldn't get a great picture but I think these capture the essence all the same! It's from Topshop..you can get it here, but it's amazing! (I think I already said that but it is!). It comes out as thick glitter, not the usual clear polish with one or two glittery specks. I did use four coats but it dries super quick.

{update} Just opened the door to a delivery man and he said "love the nails!!". ha.

I also thought I'd share some pictures I've taken today in the lovely summer sun in my garden.

Hope everyone is also getting a chance to enjoy the sun - even if it is just an hour to enjoy lunch outside!
