{new} to ONR...scallops!

Hello all,

It's Monday again - is it just me or did that come around especially quickly this week? I hope you had a lovely weekend!

On Friday evening I had a little design epiphany - these little scalloped chaps, inspired by the many pairs of scalloped shorts & pretty tops I've been eyeing up in the shops and online for a little while now.

So far I've hand illustrated a little tea set and a rather large {& very lovely} serving bowl - but I have visions of a whole host of other pretties.
I'd really like to set up a properly styled shoot for my items, especially the ceramics, I'd love to get some summery shots of the serving ware and some of the side plates laid out with salads and other yummy treats - but I currently can't seem to conjure up appetising shots of food! It's a tricky art that - perhaps I'll need a little help!

So what do you think? Do we approve of the new design, & would you like to see it on a specific item...the mini cake stand perhaps?

These should be listed in the shop later this week - hoorah!

{new} to the shop

Hello all!

For those of you who follow me on Twitter {@ohnorachio} - having been rather sicky yesterday, I can report I'm back on form today, so thank you for your concern and healthy vibes!

Right, today I'm excited to finally share with you a little item that I was working on as a top secret project for one of my closest friends...

This item has a lovely back story so I wanted to share it with you!

Since November my gorgeous friend Jules has been counting down the days until her husband Steven comes home {and now its less than two weeks - YAY!}. He's out in Qatar on tour with the RAF and I know that she has been missing him like mad - so when he contacted me just before Valentine's day with a secret commission request I couldn't have been happier to help!

He wanted to make Valentine's day special despite the fact that he's a million miles away - so he asked if I could make something little for her that meant something. He gave me the phrase "I love you to the moon and back" because it's a saying they have always shared and this is what I came up with.

I personally delivered it to Jules the day after Valentines Day and I'm pleased to report that she absolutely loved it! So Steven - I hope you do too!

If you're a fan - you can purchase your own one here!
Back tomorrow with some more news :)

{be brave}

Hello all,

I was lucky enough to have two days off from work together last week {I don't have weekends off} so I thought I'd finish a project I intended to complete literally months and months ago! I bought the most gorgeous fine porcelain two-tiered cake stand with the idea that I'd decorate it in some way or another...and then I did that annoying thing that I do with all new notebooks and sketchbooks that I buy...decided that I don't want to write in it just yet as I might be having an artistic 'off-day' and ruin it.

I therefore shelved it, with all my lovely paper goods...until now! I plucked up the courage to just go for it and embrace my love of dots {I'd originally intended to do one of my leafy patterns on it} and I'm actually rather pleased with the results! Have a look for yourself at the finished cake stand...
I do hope this might might inspire you to be brave and finish all of those projects you put aside for fear of making a mistake - I'm going to be working my way through mine in the coming weeks, maybe I'll share some more with you all!

{hello} Nook & Cranny!

Hello all,

A little update for you today on my presence at the wonderful Nook & Cranny, right in the heart of lovely Liverpool. I've been working with the fabulous people of Nook & Cranny for a good few months now and I must say they are a rather lovely lot!

Nook & Cranny stock a huge variety of lovely products from a whole host of independent British artists. They sell cards, homeware, gifts, stationery, and lots and lots of lovely prints. I can in fact say that lots of my goodies are available from Nook & Cranny, here is a few little snaps of my products in action {photos taken by the wonderful Leigh}.

If you happen to be in Liverpool {the shop is part of the Bluecoat Gallery} you should totes pop in and say hi to the lovely ladies you will find and I challenge you to not be persuaded to part with some precious pennies!
This happy little chappy is one of my creations...I actually made him for myself but Leigh fell in love, so I made a little batch for her to sell - currently exclusively available at Nook & Cranny, but soon to be available from my own little Etsy shop!
Here we have, once again my cheerful chap amongst a lovely big display of all of my hand illustrated ceramics.
This little dinosaur looks pretty interested in my little notes moleskine journal!
Above are my tiny deer and lion prints also available...all of the items you've seen are also available here should you wish to treat yourself - or a friend perhaps!

I hope you love this wonderful little shop as much as I do!

p.s. you can follow Nook & Cranny on Twitter @NookandCrannyL1

Hello you!

Just a little update and a sneak peek at things to come...look whose ceramics are on display at the lovely Nook & Cranny shop in Liverpool!

Yes that's right, they're my ceramics and moleskines - yay!

The lovely Leigh at Nook & Cranny has curated my bits and bobs amongst the other delights in their shop - I only wish I could pop up and see them in person!

Here's some more delights on offer...

what a lovely little shop eh?

Hello Baby....

So I've just added a cute little baby plate to my range of ceramics, I wanted to do something along the same lines as my 'oh hello' and 'nom' plates but with a cute twist. I've done two plates, one baby blue and one baby pink...now I just need to find a baby to give them to!

I'd love to give this at a baby shower or christening - no one else would have got the same gift!

The pink baby plate will soon be added to the shop, but for now, if you'd like one - simply purchase the blue baby plate and specify in the notes you'd rather the pink one!

So here it is...

Hope you like it :)
