#SCP sneaky peek...

Hello team!

Yep, that's right - one week until the lovely Harriet & I, party planners extraordinaire will be organising a rather exciting little party on the roof! If you have no idea what on earth I'm harping on about...then see here, here & here!

First things first - we have had a couple of lovely people 'drop out' for various reasons SO, if you'd like to be involved and are free next Thursday and can get to Southampton for a super fun afternoon...drop me an email at and tickets will be allocated on a first come first served basis. It would be lovely to have you! We're just asking for £5 to cover our costs of refreshments and supplies!

Onto the juicy stuff:

So, to kick the afternoon off you will be getting stuck into your goodie bags - and my my do we some awesome goodies for you all!

Then we'll be crafting together. Harriet & I have come up with a project that we think you'll LOVE, more to be revealed later {I can't give it all away at once, although it is admittedly hard to contain the excitement I feel!}.

After we're suitably crafted out - or once our little tums just won't quit their rumbling we will be having a rather lovely little lunch. Think pretty little sandwiches, the yummiest of cakes and a whole host of other treats, along with outstandingly yum apple juice provided by my favourite juice team Cawston Press {Thanks guys :)}. We'll also have some Pinterest-esque flavoured waters cream and sprinkles!!

Then {yep there's more} we shall be hosting our super unimaginably awesome prize draw! Now this is something you won't want to miss. We initially planned a sort of hamper style prize to be won by one lucky person - HOWEVER - we've had such an overwhelmingly positive response from the wonderful people we've been contacting that, to give it all to one person would be a little OTT and would quite possibly create a whole host of green eyed monsters. Not something we want to create, we want nice chats and new pals right!?

Therefore - everyone will win something from the prize draw, and let me tell you, you will NOT be disappointed. So please do get excited for that!

Aside from all of the freebies, the real idea of the day is to meet like minded and lovely individuals who you'll hopefully want to keep in touch with and get crafty. We're crafting for community spirit and encouraging a bit of light hearted motivation!!

So after what appears to be quite the essay, and without further are some of the goodies you might get your mitts on from some truly talented and very generous people!
I can't quite believe I'm saying it but the explosion of goodies above is actually only a small selection of whats on offer...can you believe it??

Up there you can see work from:

We also have amazingness from:
{see I told you the pic was only a small amount!}

So there we have it...a sneaky peek at the prizes - what do you think??

{room for improvement}

Hello all!

I hope you had a lovely lovely sunny weekend! I had a super action packed Sunday off completing a rather exciting little project I undertook as part of Money Supermarket's "Room for Improvement" campaign. I love my apartment, more than anything - and buying nice succulents things for my house is a bit of an addiction.

I love collecting pieces of furniture or sweet accessories that just add something special to the feel of the place. However, since I moved in I've been super scared of attaching anything to my pristine white walls in case I manage to like pull an entire wall of plaster down or go through a water pipe!? I think it's a fear instilled in me as a child as I was discouraged from just banging things into my walls in my room at home incase I 'damage the walls'! So now, the thought of putting hammer to nail scares me somewhat...weird eh? Nothing a bit of filler and white paint can't fix right?

ANYWAY...I was kindly given £50 to spend on some goodies that would transform a room of my choosing in the house, so - I chose the lounge - as that way, the changes would benefit everyoneeee that comes to visit!

Here's what my lounge looked like before...
It was certainly still a very nice room, don't get me wrong - but it lacked any real coherence, from the sofa to the desk etc, and there wasn't really any thought behind the layout of the smaller items of as I said before there was a LOT of white wall!

So....TA's what I did:
I was really surprised at how drastically I could enhance a room with very little money. Granted a spent a little more than £50...but with some styling and a few key pieces of furniture and accessories {and a spin with the sewing machine for the cushion cover}, as well as a lovely handy helper {thanks Jack} you can transform an otherwise fairly plain space and make it something completely special!

So that's my newly improved living room...what do you guys think?

p.s. you can see the gorgeous make over Harriet did with her pennies here & also Claire's phenomenal changes here!

{YAY} I got mail!

Hello all,

I don't know about you, but I still get super excited every time I open my mailbox and find post! Now I'm not talking bills, no my heart definitely sinks when those arrive. I'm talking excited deliveries of eBay finds, goodies from pals and NOW...mail art!!

A little while ago, the wonderful Jessica of 'nature's my friend' and I started chatting on good old Twitter. It turns out she's pretty super cool and actually it's a real shame she's all the way over in Canada! She makes lovely items from her sweet animal illustrations, and like me sells them in her little Etsy shop here.
Well....not only does she make lovely goodies that she sells, she's also a committed pen pal {kudos to you Jessica! See this amazing post here} and as you can see - she sent me a wonderful illustrated envelope of joy which I was not expecting to receive! So it was an exciting day indeed when this turned up in our little postbox!
Jessica included some gorgeous paper ephemera, vintage cuttings and snippets of pretty washi tapes...and what really made it special was the little notes on the back of many of the images. It's really nice to receive such kind words, especially when you're maybe getting bogged down with everything!

So thank you Jessica, I am already starting to collect some little bits and bobs that I can send you - so keep an eye out for mr Postman!

I hope this little post might inspire you to send your pals a little bit of snail mail again, there's nothing quite like the feeling of something that is hand written, and with love too!

Go on, make someones day!

Hello all,

Guess what?! Well you've probably already guessed...BUT...we will be hosting a Craft Party in sunny Southampton on June 20th as part of Etsy's annual craft party!

Hopefully we'll get nice weather so that we can all sit out on the big roof terrace outside my little apartment - then we can soak up some summer sun and get our craft on!

I've got a super ace {DIY} planned for us all to do, as well as a whole host of treats including tasty summer drinks, homemade fruity ice lollies, cakes {yay cakes} and maybe even ice cream with sprinkles!

Just like the blog meet ups we hosting earlier this year - the event will be a really great opportunity to meet some like minded and very lovely people, as well as get stuck into some crafting action and have a natter whilst you enjoy a good piece of cake!

If you are in the South {or even if you're not} and fancy joining us then please do let me know in the comments below, including your email and I'll make sure I get you a proper Etsy invitation to the event!

Please share with any friends you think might also like to come, tweet about it, blog about it, shout about it if you like - the more the merrier!

Here's to an awesome {sunny} day!
More deets to come soon...

5 {simple} things

Hello all,

Happy Monday to you! I hope you all had a really lovely weekend - I sadly worked all weekend, but I have Tuesday off, and it's set to be an exciting day indeed {so I'm sure it'll make up for a weekend of work!}. From Tuesday we will be doggy sitting two little canine pals - Titch & Benji - so expect some dogs based simple things next week {hopefully the dogs will stay still long enough for a good picture!!}.

Last week, as always I tried to look for those little things that made my week, so without further ado - here are last weeks five simple things:
1//. this amazing ice-cream constructed by the very lovely Katrina because it was naughty - but had fresh raspberries & blueberries inside!
2//. these scrambled eggs for starting Sunday off the right way!
3//. this little chap for continuing to blossom.
4//. this zine & accompanying envelope from Paul aka Alpha Wham which I won {yippee}. thanks Paul :)
5//.  & this little greedy bottom for knocking his food tin over whilst I wasn't looking & climbing in...he makes me laugh!
I hope you all had at least 5 little things that made you smile last week. So much happens every day its so easy to let it all pass you by as the days merge and you finish each week in much the same place you started. It's good to capture those fleeting moments that allow you to appreciate the small things.

Until tomorrow,
